Abstract

The article is devoted to іmprovement of sustainable development of populated locality. The purpose of the article is to give the reader information on the main аreas of activities of state authorities and local self‐government that provide sustainable development of populated locality. The paper analyzes factors that influence the structure of a mechanism that ensure sustainable development of human settlements. This mechanism has a number of features of formation and functioning. It ensures the sustainable development of human settlements. The main components of the mechanism are financial, investment and innovation policy. Each component has its own parameters to function effectively. The author suggests the general structure of a mechanism to ensure sustainable development of human settlements. In the structure of the mechanism identified and demarcated functional subsystems. The article provides a practical example of an industrial city Dnepropetrovsk. In conclusion the author suggests an approach that will ensure balanced development of all sectors of the economy and the solution of economic, social and environmental problems.
