Abstract: | The purpose and objectives of the study. The main purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between the level of socio-economic development and mortality and life expectancy. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to identify the main factors affecting the age and sex structure of the population and to determine the mechanism of the impact of these factors on mortality and life expectancy. Research method and methodology. Comparative analysis, logical-systematic approach, comparison and generalization, analysis and synthesis, economic and statistical methods were used in the research work. Scientific novelty of the research is based on the relationship between the level of socio-economic development and mortality and life expectancy, as well as the factors determining the age-sex structure of the population, the mechanism of birth, death and migration. Results. The study analyzes the relationship between the level of socio-economic development and birth and life expectancy based on statistical indicators of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Russia and Iran using the FIML strategy. The study found that the age-sex structure of the population is formed as a result of long-term historical changes in the level of births, deaths and migration and the evolution of these processes. Research shows that each of the factors, such as birth and death, more or less affects the age-sex structure of the population. Conclusions. Research shows that there is a correlation between socio-economic development and mortality and life expectancy. Thus, the full provision of the population with all services in the social sphere, including health, will ultimately reduce mortality and increase life expectancy. At the same time, GDP per capita contributes to the reduction of the maternal mortality rate and the increase in life expectancy by ensuring the material development of the population |
