Короткий опис (реферат):
The article explores artistic peculiarities of the novels of contemporary Ukrainian writers G. Pahutyak and
I. Rozdobudko as well as the problematic-thematic and stylistic aspects. The analysis revealed that the authors
are interested in the existential problems of human being, the key among which are the problems of loneliness,
moral emptiness, mental homelessness, duality, absurdity of human existence in an absurd, hostile world. The
real world, a sign of which are sick, crazy and homeless people, is contrasted with the fictional world and
another world (Paradise) as the personification of the dream about happiness (G. Pagutyak’s novels). The
concept of another world is realized through the motives of theatricality, the game (novel ‘Lover’ by
I. Rozdobudko). The use of sleep technique, psychologically colored artistic details (uprooted tree and a tree
broken with lightning), symbols (island, desert, shelter, snow, garden, house, mask, window etc.) and the
semantic oppositions 'I - OTHER', 'I - HE' helps to reveal the inner ‘I’ of heroes, defines various dimensions of
their being, reflecting reality.
